California is so diverse, you’ve got stunning beaches, beautiful mountains, and the desert. Once a getaway for celebrities oozing with style and old Hollywood glamour, just 2hrs away from Los Angeles, you can find Palm Springs!

Whether you want to dwell in the desert, go for a glamourous weekend getaway, or sit poolside and relax with cocktails in hand, Palm Springs is sure to appeal to all of the senses.

Where To Stay

There are countless beautiful hotels and Airbnb's whether you’re looking for a boutique hotel with a quirky mid-century modern vibe, ultra-modern luxury, or the Spanish traditional historic resorts. Here are my top 10 places to stay in Palm Springs.

Mid Century Boutique Vibe - Parker Palm Springs

The first Holiday Inn in California was established at this site in 1959! This hotel has a TON of Hollywood history, Gene Autry purchased it to house his baseball team, Robert Downey Jr. had some drama here, and Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie shot their famous W Magazine cover at the Parker Palm Springs.

Spanish Moroccan Boutique Villas - Korakia Pensione

A very romantic private boutique hotel inspired by Morocco and the Mediterranean.

Modern Luxury - The Ritz Carlton

If you're looking for that 5-star treatment come to the Ritz. The customer service at this property is truly outstanding, you are greeted with champagne when checking in, the views are breathtaking and the rooms make you never want to leave!

Spanish Traditional - La Quinta

This property is so beautiful and has a ton of history. It was built in 1926 and was an escape for the elite at the time. Some of the original casitas are still in use (pictured below) as hotel rooms.

The resort has everything you need so you never have to leave the property, it even has 41 pools! (yes, you read that right. 41. )

La Quinta Resort Palm Springs

Mid Range Luxury - Omni Rancho Las Palmas

This resort has beautiful Spanish inspired architecture mixed with modern resort amenities and is very family-friendly. The Omni has a small waterpark with slides and a lazy river located onsite!

What To Do

Get lost in the desert

Joshua Tree is a massive national park located just 20 minutes from Palm Springs with amazing rock formations and of course the iconic Joshua Tree.

See Palm Springs from above!

Visit the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, the world's largest rotating tramway goes up to 8,516 ft in 10 min. Once you get to the top there are two restaurants, a cocktail lounge, observation decks, a small natural history museum, two theaters showing State Park and tram construction videos, a gift shop, Magic Memories for photo viewing, and over 50 miles of hiking trails along with other nature activities.

Shop 'til you drop!

The shopping districts in Palm Springs are located on El Paseo Drive and Palm Canyon Drive, which have everything from high-end luxury stores to quaint boutiques.

El Paseo Drive is known as the "Rodeo Drive" of the desert.

Palm Canyon has everything from galleries, to restaurants and every shop you could imagine. Palm Canyon Drive also hosts the Village Fest every Thursday night, a street fair for local artisans to showcase their goods and celebrate their neighborhood.

Where To Eat

Casual brunch spot with French-style farm to table eats and outdoor seating.

Get here early, it's a favorite in Palm Springs. Classic American style breakfast/brunch with all the favorites!

The name says it all, modern Mexican cuisine with genuine hospitality.

Tapas and good vino. If you want to go to Spain, this is the closest you'll get!

This place hits the spot when you're looking for delicious Italian food in a beautiful setting.

Pro-Tip

The desert is very dry. If you can, I suggest you bring a humidifier if you're not used to the dryness, you'll sleep better and your skin will thank you. Don't skimp on moisturizer, I like to apply baby oil after showering while my skin is still wet, and dab my skin dry for extra moisture, and don't forget the sunscreen!
